At the moment, the Monocoque Carbon Tech skiroll represents the highest technological standard as regards construction materials. In fact it is made of several layers of cloth in carbon fibre, differentiated by the elastic resistance module. Carbon is nothing but a petrol by-product (PAN poliacrylonitrile) used also for normal plastic materials which turns to graphite through a vacuum-packed thermic process.
The thread obtained is subsequently woven in various woofs which may confer to the cloth itself a higher or lower resistance depending on the number of threads arranged as weft and woof. The various cloth layers are joint together by an epoxidic resin.
Because of the high elastic module and the low density, the 100% carbon frame differentiates from the composite for a lower weight and especially for a higher rigidity and reactivity to stresses.
